With recent walkouts by Vijay and Mahesh Babu from the Tamil and Telugu versions of the remake of 3 Idiots, industry rumours are rife about who will be finally chosen for the lead role. Since the movie is critical of our educational system, it requires a senior actor to voice what the movie's intention is all about.
Earlier STR, Madhavan and Srikanth were among the few to step away from the project. Now with Vijay also going away, there are rumours that Suriya or Ajith may be considered to take up the lead. Suriya's attachment with the Agaram foundation also strengthens this rumour.
